OK, so just typing that out up there is helping me a little bit try to work out what needs to happen in what order. I think. I have a lot of stuff to transcribe from handwritten editing to the file, and that will help too, as holes have been filled and that neatens things up. The first line up there should be struck as well, but it's in the notes, not yet typed, so I'm leaving it for now.

I kind of want to ask everyone what they really want to see here? It's a long-awaited chapter! But Sam isn't the first of the Autobots' dear humans to die? So a lot of ground that I hadn't anticipated as being covered already, has been. So it's just that it's Sam this time, and everyone is going to be different, and Optimus knows at least a bit more about what happens than he has before, too. Which has Implications.

Whenever I want to write - immediately! urgently! - it seems I'm already in the middle of something else; the treadmill at the gym, spending the day at friends' house, at work... Argh. Or it's getting really late and I need to sleep, rather than stay up another couple of hours. o.o; (My job now has me on the 7am to 4pm shift, which...I do like getting off that early? And I like Being up that early, and sunrises, and the lack of traffic, but I don't like Getting up that early... XD)

Anyway. But I also don't want to ...like...not do my auctorial Job. It's my chapter and I have to finish it myself. There's So Much ahead! I want to get to those other chapters! I just don't want to cheat these chapters. Any more than I've already done. This is supposed to be fun! And it is! Augh!

In other news: Mom is doing great! Walking around with hardly a limp at all now and sans any kind of cane or walker. Just working on her stamina, and sometimes, on stairs particularly, she has some muscle weakness that's kind of alarming for a second. It'll take time.

From the Making Things Department: Since oh I don't know September or November or something, I've been watching Bernadette Banner (and some of her friends) on YouSchmoob, and being inspired to want to make historical dresses and try hand stitching at least some of it! I'd like to make at least one 1920's day dress and an evening dress and a cocoon coat. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...!
Also Cyclonus' holomatter avatar outfit. Ish. I love Alex Milne's work, but that dress... No. Honey, no.
Also I've wanted to make some kind of steampunk Edwardian getup for Perceptor ever since seeing someone's art of one on tumblr when I first got on there...2013???? idk... Plus I already have the shoes for that.

Am still gathering materials for the Flowers In the Church necklace thing idea. Got some silk thread in five different colors of gold omg they're sooooooo beautiful I want three more sets from that same seller on Etsy..........................! <3333333 Didn't get to the bead shop this weekend, but maybe next weekend. I don't usually use the warm amber honey colors so I don't actually have very many beads, especially seed beads, of the colors I want for this. But once that happens I'll have everything I need, I think. Have to remember to look for a ribbon clasp - or several, if I start making ribbon chokers/necklaces b/c I keep eyeballing that idea too.

In related news, Mom and I are starting to KonMari and reorganize the sun room, which is also the sewing room. (We do not keep a sun in there, it is already too hot for most of the year.) We have taken measurements and I think we can keep a lot/most of the furniture in there, but some things I think should go and there's just piles of stuff that needs organizing and better, more accessible storage. There's an old dresser that I have a lot of fabric and stuff in and the drawers stick and it's ugly and I hate it and it's preventing the sewing table from being fully extended and that is not working for me when I have larger things to sew, like skirts or the Alaska quilt (whenever those squares get all cut out...::quiet internal screaming::)
Anyway. That is going to be A Lot, but it Needs to be Done. (◡‿◡✿)

From the Entertainment Front: Watched all the first season of Witcher in two nights. Work nights. Oops. But! I am vastly entertained, and last night I started the first ep again, and they totally fair play through the whole thing! It is excellent! I have seen some criticism online, with which - as often happens - I do not agree. There is no hand-holding re when a particular scene is taking place, but if one Pays Attention it becomes obvious enough to Be Going On With! It is no weirder than any of those one-season art anime shows. Geralt is 3000% Done with everything. And needs a nap. And a bath. Jaskier is hilariously self-aware and Modern. There is no flinching from the terrible conditions of medieval-era life and warfare. This does indeed lean into Tolkien high-fantasy, and the magic in this world is Difficult and Costly. It's a big cast. There are complicated relationships and politics. The plot - yes there is one, thank you - is complicated and very long game. The characters are complicated and charming and occasionally hilarious. Some of Yennefer's costumes in particular are verrrrrrrry interesting! The corded one is amazeballs! 8D There is nothing wrong with the acting, and Henry Cavill especially is doing beautifully. There is snark. Worldbuildy and music are v good. There's So Much to meta about and squee about! <33333333 And there are some WONDERFUL side characters that deserve whole series of their own... <3

Anyway, I suspect the show is getting some stick because it's Fantasy, and popular at the mo (popular with teenaged girls??? Kiss of Death!), but some of the people I know who have criticisms are fellow nerds so it's a ymmv thing for sure. Criticisms are fine. Engaging with the media is fine. Breathe...breathe...

In other news, also started watching but haven't quite finished an anime called Sarazanmai. Hoo boy! It helps if one is familiar-ish with kappa mythology already, then all the removals of things from anuses becomes normalized by about the fourth ep. Same director? I think? as Utena, so be prepared for that same kind of aesthetic, ritualized struggle with adolescence and identity and family and complex relationships. And Teh Dramas! XD It's weirdly cute.

It's late...but maybe I'll get some Falling Leaves typed in...

Just a quick note to say that I will be at TFCon in Toronto this weekend! I did not get this chapter of Borealis finished beforehand, as I squandered last weekend. I will be wildly trying to get packed tomorrow night after dance class... Must remember to color hair tonight... Hallow's End is going on on WoW - with some new bits for the garrison! Hee! Also I'm working on the "To All the Squirrels I've Loved" achievement. XD Only have ewe, hare and swine left. Shattrath (I'm assuming Outlands, not Draenor) and Durotan. Although I just discovered tonight that there are skunks in Draenor!Nagrand! AUGH! I didn't have to go all the way to Northrend for those after all. Well, I needed the frogs, so... I expect I'll go on to "...the Squirrels I've Caressed" and "...the Squirrels Who've Cared for Me" and probably "Pest Control" since why not. I also need to sample four more different kinds of drink for the "It's 5-o-clock Somewhere" achievement. Or whatever it's called. I was soooooo smashed, there in Ironforge for a while. XD I've never gotten that fuzzy before, and I couldn't fly straight! XDDD

The Crimson Wave arrived this morning!

I've been watching how-tos on YouSchmoob and now I want to take up wet felting in order to make cat caves. Like one does. Because clearly I needed a new skill, right? But but...CAT CAVES!!!!!!!! The main thing is that I think the wool is probably painfully expensive. Unless you know someone with sheep and you card it yourself or something. And dye it. A lot of the supplies I've found so far are for needle felting, which involves, generally, much smaller...hanks. Roving. Whatever it's called.

Bubble wrap easy. Olive soap easy - found some inexpensive on Etsy. (Although if that was the Lithuanian shop the postage would be more than the soap. Making this not a wintertime hobby, really. Or not as fun in winter. Hmm.

I have perhaps fixed a problem! By deciding that "Neighbors" is, in fact, done, and the rest of the stuff I've been plonking away at for that chapter now gets its own chapter! "New Dawn"! I've been thinking about doing this for a while, but was hung up on a title. This one isn't super clever or anything, but it gets the job done and it suits what's going on. So. If I can get 'Comber and Long through their clang, and compose the maybe three sentences I need for Galvie's bathtime fun scene done, then I can post ND part one tonight! \o/

Yes, that means the LJ/DW chapter denominator is now up to 93. AO3 got ...well, not off, per se. I think that numbering is closer to accurate, since Monster Mash Epilogue ended up being its own thing? But there might also have been a chapter where I thought it wouldn't fit so I did a part 2 where there needn't have been and...oh I have no idea. But it's not a huge deal and doesn't matter exactly, so. XD

This still delays the exciting fun of killing everyone in Falling Leaves, but at least I can post some progress and hopefully get on with the rest. I think I have the chapter organized more or less properly now. The AI city stuff might be moved, depending on stuff. Or it might actually be in a more sensible place. I'd have to look. ^_^ But during all these months I have also had a couple of v helpful ideas, and sprinklings of fun details to throw around, which might also have happened if I had been more organized and deliberate and less dilatory and prone to procrastination and if Dad and I hadn't finally gotten the Warlords of Draenor xpac for WoW...................

Holy crap. That whole Húrin, Morwen, Túrin, Nienor, Glaurung thing! Was an enormous clusterfrag!!! o.o You die, the girl dies, everybody dies. Glaurung, as befits an Úrulóki, is a COLOSSAL asshole. I read most of that last night before sleep, but since that was such a massive pit of suck, I had to keep on for a little bit into the next chapter, which has Beren and Luthien in it slightly, and the beginning of the whole fiasco of the Nauglamir. Damn Silmarils! DAMMIT FEANOR!

Also, Túrin, dude, pick a name.

So. Luthien, Morwen and Nienor all go galloping off on adventures, sort of. But it’s only ever because of their menfolk that they do this, and Morwen and Nienor have a craptastic time of it. Possibly because they’re humans and not Elves, although Morwent manages to survive alone in the wild for years. Survive, not flourish by any means. The guys who go off like that do tend to get caught and dragged before Elvenkings pretty raggedy too, but they tend to be out there due to Quests or oaths or things, and the women are just chasing after them. For Love.

Except Haleth, who leads her people out of the East and then south to Brethil because Morgoth’s overrun the north and it is full of orcs and werewolves and Balrogs and crap. Oh my.

Whew. Eärendil and Elwing – who is kind of awesome – and Elrond and Elros getting captured but Maglor kind of liked the kids and took care of them. Adventures on the sea. The War of Wrath, and Maedhros and Maglor finally get the last two Silmarils but don’t enjoy them. (As in Maedhros throws himself and the Silmaril into a fiery pit, and Maglor chucks his into the ocean and thus spends the rest of his miserable life wandering up and down the shore, singing and moping.)

Whoop there goes Númenor. Like it do. I expected this kind of behavior from the Men. But I remember being particularly appalled at the Elves, first time I read this. ^_^;

In yet other news:
Have been slowly making progress on “Neighbors.” I’ve got Beachcomber and Longhaul down in the Structies’ city in Norway, looking around and flirting. ;D
The bad news is, I've added another scene. Decided Galvatron needed to take a page from Morgoth's book. And we needed to peek in on what he was up to, because it's been a while. Oops.

In yet other news, Mom and Dad are having a combined 70th birthday party open house tomorrow! Cake! Friends and neighbors! It's only for four hours. uwu

So, about a week after Mom's actual birthday she fell - fortunately only badly bruised her right wrist, but it kind of freaked her and Dad out a little I think. It's possibly a sobering thing to realize that you only have ten more years before you start becoming the same age as your own parents were when they died. Neither Mom nor Dad have any major health problems, though; not on any prescription medication, so they're doing better, by and large, than their parents were at the same age.

I'm making pretty good headway on the next part of "Neighbors" - yay!
But I've discovered a 300,000 year discrepancy in my timeline. Craaaap.
I wrote the scenes dealing with Perceptor saving the Archive years earlier than that whole bit with Mirage's history, and the two don't match. When they should, because the Towers and the Universities were destroyed at the same time. Both parts are already posted, though thanks to the magic of Edit Entry I could fix Perceptor's times to match Mir's.

In fact I just might. It's a minor edit, and I could do both LJ and AO3.

If I don't, no-one would care or notice, but it is of course bugging me. ^_^;

Hoping to spend a good deal of today writing. o^____^o The "Skyfire snuggles on the way out to Cybertron" contains the problematic bit of timeline shenaniganry, because of course I had to add in a chunk of flashback instead of just doing a regular snuggle. Oy vey. AND I KEEP FORGETTING THE MINICONS! AUGH!

So. There are five scenes to finish before I can post Part III. And they aren't simple scenes, either. Besides keeping time unfuddled, I've been worldbuilding for three, four-ish new species, spinning out threads I'll have to take up and deal with later, not to mention names and species and consequences of the additions...which could get interesting since I'm p much worldbuilding off the top of my head. Stealing a little bit here and there. But I'll have to keep track of the Chime now, because they're going to try Prowl. Hmm. Maybe the Aubera Secundus thing will have been fairly recently. Now to figure out what actually happened... X[ (It's pretty bad. This is the incident Ironhide remembers Prowl from, at the beginning. And it's not good. Prowl would have done whatever he did with good intentions, or at least in an attempt to minimize the worst outcomes. But it's bad. And the fact that it involves another robotic species adds to the layers of galactic politics.)

I'm p certain I did make sure the dates of losing their sun matched, in both Mirage's account to Epps when Hound was hurt, and the main Mir/Sur narrative.

We're getting a new water heater! Woo!

Eh, another cold shower tonight won't kill me. I think I'll put off dyeing my hair, though. Hopefully the new one will be installed tomorrow? Of course the delta breeze has kicked in just the week I could have been happy with triple digits... ;D

I've gotten a couple of the things done that I wanted to get done before Botcon! But not all the things. u.u; Working on it. I've closed a couple of gaps in the "Neighbors" scene that's been holding me up, and am therefore - I hope - nearly done with that whole section. I have a natural disaster prevention thing lined up for the scene after that with the rescue bot teams, and then I think it's on to...oh. Two other things before we get to Perceptor and the Structies on Cybertron, but I'm close to filling the two big gaps in that bit. After that is moving of planet, which might not even take long, wordcount-wise, and has been mostly written except for transitions and spacial set-up for literally years. Like probably six. Six years. Or more. Depending on how early I reckoned on the planet moving stuff. Late 07 or sometime in 08, p sure, b/c that was one of the early plot points I decided to hit, before I even started posting regularly-ish. So.

Work tomorrow, but I did take Wednesday off, so I'll have then to flail about in. Woo!

Wanted to get part iii done before Botcon but looking at the list...no. But I'm charging the netbook, so I can work on it whilst I'm there! (Plane ride's only about an hour and ten minutes. Worth it I guess if I have an apostrophe, but probably not. ^_^;)

Flying down Thursday afternoon, flying home Monday evening. No halfassed cosplay this year for me, but I'll at some point be wearing the Perceptor tee I painted last year. :D

ETA: Cold shower accomplished. Mitigating circumstances: a) It's not dead of winter, b) I take semi-Navy showers anyway, so I'm not standing in spray the whole time. (Get wet, turn water off, scrub everything, turn water on, rinse as fast as possible. Long hair is long but again I'm not standing in the spray, I'm bending backwards a little to just put my hair in... XD)
Am currently only chilled in the feets. :)

The AO3 chapter has been updated as well. :D I saw that I had over 5K words and got the first several scenes done, so posted. Explody chapter is explody. There will be a part 3 and probably/possibly a part 4. ^^;

Getting this part up now kinda then gives me more time to work on the humans meeting more aliens stuff. Another couple of scenes after that are prrrrrrretty close to done. Lots of gaps to close, but the bones of the thing are all there.

I'm going to work on my lvl 39 Worgen rogue for a bit but then maybe get back to writing... I have a fic from a spook_me prompt TWO YEARS AGO that needs maybe a paragraph, maybe two to be finished. And inside that package is an OP window sticker and a Megatron fake tattoo...and more packaging...aaaaand it's a NEST dogtag! And now, Traffic! The daffs are done and so, apparently is the rain. It got up to 78 F or so today, clear skies. Nice! But also one worries re summer. The white California poppies are out, and the irises are growing leaves, but aside from the one set in the back yard that went off a couple weeks ago, none blooming yet.

Coworker snagged five Meyer lemons off his neighbor's overhanging tree for me and now I'm jonesing for my own tree! Oooh they're so nice! Sweetly fragrant and so smooth! Mmmmm! I had no idea what the big deal about Meyer lemons was, just that all these products bragged about having them/the juice as ingredients/fragrance or whatever. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Meyer lemons. I'm going to make smoothies with some of them, and I have a recipe for lemon bars that's not too difficult and... So many things one can do with lemons!!!!!! \o/ 8D

And now, the weather. Finished the first three of C.J. Cherryh's Foreigner books, have just gotten the next six in dead tree editions. That should keep me off the street for a while. Maybe. Am also reading The Covenant of Primus. !!! And yes, yes indeed the handling of Solus Prime's story arc, if you can call it that, really massively sucks hairy, inspisated baboon ass. A lot of ass. I really like Solus herself! I'm not happy with how she was dealt with, nor the whole gender thing in general, which has been made hash of for the entire history of the franchise so... ::anime throbbing blood vessel::
BUT! There's quite a lot of nice worldbuilding here as well! And some little character bits where I keep going, "OH NO THEY'RE CUTE AAAA!" Ratchet being Ratchetty! Silverbolt so adorbs! Oh Prowl! Oh Bluestreak!!! ::sobs:: And Orion. So so so so so so soooooooo cute. Such a sweetheart, once upon a time. Also waaaaaaaaay older than I thought, but...spoilers. Which I might delve into more once I've finished reading it.

Last week work memorable events:
- Taking a buttload of xrays! None of which were diagnostic of anything! Yeah that's always...fun. =_= Sent them off to our tame radiologist anyway, in hopes of figuring
something out. I haven't heard re either case yet.
- Had two kidney dz cats in, on IV fluids. One of whom wouldn't eat...unless he was being petted. MY JOB, GENTLEBEINGS! PETTING CATS! ::fistpump::
